An addon, that shows which utility abilities you should take and where to use them in Mythic+ dungeon – Mythic Plus Utility - MPU.

Utility Abilities

The main utility abilities available to shaman:

Spirit Wolf – damage reduction while in Ghost Wolf, used in high keys to reduce unavoidable damage. Choice node with Thunderous Paws.
Thunderous Paws – removes Snare effect when using Ghost Wolf, situational talent in certain dungeons. Choice node with Spirit Wolf.
Spirit Walk – movement speed buff that removes any Slow effects. Choice node with Gust of Wind.
Gust of Wind – “jump” that can be used to mitigate some forced movement mechanics. Choice node with Spirit Walk.
Earthbind Totem – baseline ability. An AoE slow effect, useful in certain dungeons.
Earthgrab Totem – an upgrade to Earthbind Totem that additionally roots targets the first time they are affected by the totem.
Capacitor Totem – an AoE stun, a very useful talent in all dungeons.
Cleanse Spirit – removes Curse effect from friendly target, useful ability in certain dungeons.
Wind Rush Totem – an AoE movement speed increase, situational talent that allows you to save time between packs.
Purge – purges Magical effect from an enemy, useful ability in certain dungeons.
Jet Stream – a situational upgrade to Wind Rush Totem that adds Snare removal. Be mindful that Snare removal only only happens when buff is applied and not when buff is refreshed.
Hex – CC ability that works on Humanoids and Beasts, very rarely used in dungeons.
Tremor Totem – removes Fear, Charm, and Sleep effects from friendly targets, situational talent, as almost all Fear, Charm, and Sleep effects in dungeons can be avoided by interrupting casts or leaving the affected area. Choice node with Poison Cleansing Totem.
Poison Cleansing Totem – removes Poison effects from friendly targets, useful ability in certain dungeons. Choice node with Tremor Totem.
Thunderstorm – elemental only baseline ability. An AoE that knocks away enemies, useful to get enemies away from you or other players. Can also be used as a stun substitude for interrupts (be mindful of a knockback effect).

Legend

! – strong impact, a must have pick in most cases.
no indication – moderate impact, taking and using this ability is recommended.
? – low impact, taking and using this ability for this alone is not worth in most cases.

Affixes

Affix Xal’atath’s Bargain: Ascendant:

Capacitor Totem – destroys all orbs in the radius.
Purge – purges an orb.
Thunderstorm – destroys all orbs in the radius.

Affix Xal’atath’s Bargain: Devour:

Cleanse Spirit – removes a curse from the player.
Poison Cleansing Totem – greatly simplifies this affix, one use of the totem will remove poisons from all players.
Spirit Walk / Thunderous Paws – removes the affix from yourself.
Wind Rush Totem with Jet Stream – removes the affix from everyone affected by the totem.

Poison Cleansing Totem – removes Mass Envenom debuff inflicted by Ula’tek’s Chosen. Also, this cast can be interrupted.
Spirit Walk / Thunderous Paws – removes Paralyzing Shots debuff inflicted by Twinfang Harrower.
Wind Rush Totem with Jet Stream – removes Paralyzing Shots debuff inflicted by Twinfang Harrower.
? Cleanse Spirit – removes the curse from Cursed Bones, which are scattered throughout the dungeon. Then interact with them to receive Ancient Guardian’s Aid.
? Earthbind Totem / Earthgrab Totem – slows Hatchling when they cast Nascent Hunger.
? Poison Cleansing Totem – removes Envenom debuff inflicted by High Evolutionist. Also, this cast can be interrupted.
? Spirit Walk / Thunderous Paws – removes Regurgitate debuff inflicted on the first boss Rav’i. Also, this debuff can be avoided.
? Spirit Walk / Thunderous Paws – removes Toxic Atrophy debuff inflicted on the second boss The Writhing Coil. Also, this cast can be interrupted.
? Wind Rush Totem with Jet Stream – removes Regurgitate debuff inflicted on the first boss Rav’i. Also, this debuff can be avoided.
? Wind Rush Totem with Jet Stream – removes Toxic Atrophy debuff inflicted on the second boss The Writhing Coil. Also, this cast can be interrupted.

Cleanse Spirit – removes Insatiable Hunger debuff inflicted by Starvation Effigy, which is summoned by Spirit of Hunger.
Poison Cleansing Totem – removes Toxic Spores debuff inflicted on the first boss The Hoardmonger.
Purge – removes Healing Breeze cast by Earthwhisper Tender. Also, this cast can be interrupted.
Spirit Walk – removes Glacial Tomb debuff inflicted by Avatar of Determination.
Spirit Walk / Thunderous Paws – removes Frigid Roar debuff inflicted by . Also, this cast can be interrupted.
Wind Rush Totem with Jet Stream – removes Frigid Roar debuff inflicted by Frigid Mauler. Also, this cast can be interrupted.
? Spirit Walk – removes Rime Detonation debuff inflicted by not soaking the void zone on the second boss Sentinel of Winter.

! Purge – removes Bind Soul debuff inflicted by Queen Wasi (trash before Mchimba the Embalmer).
Cleanse Spirit – removes Hex Volley debuff inflicted by Shadow-Borne Witch Doctor. Also, this cast can be interrupted.
Cleanse Spirit – removes Hex debuff inflicted by Spectral Hex Priest (trash before the third boss). Also, this cast can be interrupted.
Earthbind Totem / Earthgrab Totem – prevents Animated Gold from reaching the first boss The Golden Serpent.
Purge – removes Unholy Mending cast by Seneschal M’bara (trash before Mchimba the Embalmer). Also, this cast can be interrupted.
? Poison Cleansing Totem – removes Lingering Fluid debuff inflicted by Embalming Fluid (trash before Mchimba the Embalmer).
